RBR TS12 Installation and Setup

This is meant as a shortish guide to initially installing TS12 and getting it to a stable state and then installing RBR assets. At the end hopefully you will be able to drive your trainz. Depending on your internet connection this process may take a number of hours (seriously).

1. Install a clean TS12 from DVD
   1. Don't forget your serial number
   2. (Hint) If you have space copy the DVD to disk and install from there it is generally faster.
2. Load the TS12 Launcher select 'Options'
   1. Planet Auran Tab - Enter your details
   2. Display Setting usually DirectX
   3. Other options generally left alone

3. Repeat and load 'Content' this is CMP, he must become your friend!
   1. If you have all your stuff right you will not get the red bar at the bottom telling you that you are not registered, well unless the DLS is down again naturally.
   2. Do not try and install any RBR stuff yet!
4. Either enter Control-L (control key and the L key together) to launch TS12 or go back to the Launcher and click 'Start'
   1. When TS12 is finished loading you will see a spot called 'Content Updates' click this and download all of the updates required, there will be a ton of them generally. For more information about how-to manage Content Updates refer to this FAQ entry. There may be 500 or more downloads queued and this will take a lot of time, if it appears to get stuck you may need to exit and re-start TS12. At this point we should mention that you probably need a First Class Ticket (FCT) click here for more information.
   2. After the first run through you may want to shut down re-start TS12 and make sure that 'Content Updates' says '0' (zero) if it says 'offline' try again a bit later, you want to see the zero updates so that you have everything needed for later.
5. If you have not already downloaded them you need;
   1. Download Athena Windows Client then;
      1. Athena Installation
      2. Athena Configuration
      3. Activity Key is required;
         1. Automatic download by Athena
         2. Manual input
   2. Download RBR Core Assets, Double click the file to have Athena Install
   3. Download RBR Sound Asset, Double click the file to have Athena Install
   4. Download RBR Shunt Map, Double click the file to have Athena Install
